ISSA Vision Zero

I recently took part in the first ever Australia VZ Business Committee an idea raised by the United Nations agency the International Social Security Association.

August 22, 2018 Australia joined nations around the world to launch the Vision Zero Programme. The global launch of Vision Zero has provided an opportunity for nations, companies & business leaders to join forces with the United Nation’s International Social Security Association to commit to eliminating workplace deaths.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is the world’s leading international organization for social security institutions, government departments and agencies. The ISSA promotes excellence in social security administration through professional guidelines, expert knowledge, services and support to enable its members to develop dynamic social security systems and policy throughout the world. The ISSA was founded in 1927 under the auspices of the International Labour Organization a part of the United Nations.

Women in Safety joined the inaugural meeting on 21st August 2018 which aligned with Hans-Horst Konkolewsky the Secretary General of International Social Security Association visiting Australia from Geneva Switzerland.
